Why Become a Registered Behavior Technician?

What you'll do
The Impact
Your Career Path

RBTs work directly with children and adults with autism, implementing personalized ABA therapy plans under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Day to day, this means running structured therapy sessions, collecting behavioral data, and consistently following individualized treatment plans. The role requires focus, patience, and the ability to adapt in real time to each client's needs. You'll be working in homes, schools, and clinical settings; no two days look exactly alike. If you thrive in a hands-on, people-first environment, this work is deeply rewarding.

ABA therapy is one of the most evidence-based, research-backed approaches to supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder. As an RBT at Fairclough Behavior Services, you won't just be following a plan; you'll be building real relationships with clients and their families, showing up as a trusted, consistent presence in some of the most important moments of their development. You'll celebrate milestones that may seem small to others but mean everything to the people you serve. The work can be challenging, but the impact is visible, tangible, and lasting.

The RBT credential is widely recognized and opens doors across the ABA therapy field. We invest in team members who show dedication, clinical growth, and a commitment to quality care. Many of our RBTs go on to pursue their BCaBA or BCBA credentials, and we actively support that journey through mentorship and supervision. That said, we hire for the present role first, we're looking for people who are fully invested in the work of being an RBT, not just using it as a stepping stone. If you're ready to show up and do the work, the career path will follow naturally.
